F.A.Q.s

Can you come to me?

Yes, if it is more convenient for you, we would be happy to come to your home or place of business.

How do I know if I need a lawyer?

Every circumstance is different, but there are some ocassions when legal counsel is usually necessary. If you have been served with legal papers, or if you have been threatened with legal action, we would recommend seeking legal counsel immediately.  In other circumstances, such as when you are starting or operating your own business, it is advisable to have an ongoing working relationship with an attorney, just as an individual would have with his or her doctor or dentist.  When in doubt, feel free to contact us!

How do I schedule a consultation and what do I need to bring?

We are happy to find time to meet with you!  You may send us a message through our "Contact" page, or you may call our office at (864)715-9529.  The information/documents you will need to bring will depend on your individual situation, but we will be happy to discuss that with you when we schedule your appointment.  As a general rule, bring more rather than less.  It is better to have what we need than need something and not have it.

How much will it cost to hire you?

This is a difficult question to answer since the answer is so dependent on each client's individual needs.  A colleague once said to me this question is like asking a tailor 'how much does a suit cost?'  With that said, we maintain competitive hourly rates to limit client costs.  Our family clients will pay a certain amount of advance fees, based upon the nature of the issues in their case, and these fees are held in a trust account for them until our firm earns fees or incurs expenses for the client.  Generally speaking, our business clients will pay a regular retainer fee or advance fees which are similarly held in trust.  We accept payment by cash, check, and all major credit cards.

How do I know if you're the right lawyer for me?

Our firm does not advertise.  In fact, it is highly likely that the reason you are visiting our website is because a friend or another lawyer has referred you to us.  Most of our business comes from referrals such as these.  The reason our business has grown over the years is because we build relationships with our clients, they trust us, and they feel comfortable referring their friends and family to us.  Likewise, other lawyers who know us and the quality of our work feel comfortable sending people in need to our office.  We have experience, and our clients' trust.  If this is what you are seeking in the "right lawyer" for you, we invite you to contact us to schedule a consultation.
